Delete Your Account
Yap by Loud Apps
You can delete your Yap account and its data at any time, either in the app or by emailing us. Yap is operated by Loud Apps.
Delete Your Account in the App
- Open Yap, tap the menu icon at the top-left of any main tab, and tap Profile.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
- Type DELETE to confirm, then tap Delete My Account.
Your account is deleted immediately. This is permanent and cannot be undone.
Can't Access the App?
Email privacy@yap-social.app from the email address on your account and include your Yap username. We'll delete your account within 30 days and confirm by email.
What Gets Deleted
- Your sign-in details, including your email address
- Your profile: username, school, grade, and date of birth. Your username is released for others to use.
- Your Aura balance and Aura history
- Your purchase records, and the themes, cosmetics, and pets you own
- Your customer record with our billing partner (RevenueCat)
What Is Kept
- Posts, comments, and chat messages stay visible to your school, but your username is replaced with "[deleted]". To remove a post, delete it before you delete your account.
- Likes, votes, and Toss-up picks remain as anonymous records that are no longer tied to a profile or any personal information.
- Content removed for breaking our Terms of Service may be kept for safety and legal purposes.
- Purchase history held by Apple or Google stays with them under their own policies.
Yap Pro Subscriptions
Deleting your account does not cancel a Yap Pro subscription. Cancel it first in your Google Play subscriptions or App Store subscriptions.
